Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for pie plate 12 ounces pizza dough, thawed if frozen 4 ounces ground beef (90% lean) 1 tablespoon plain dried breadcrumbs Coarse salt and pepper 1/4 cup Three-Ingredient Marinara 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan, divided 2/3 cup shredded whole-milk mozzarella (2 ounces) Fresh basil leaves, for serving
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Coat a 9-inch glass pie plate with olive oil. Stretch dough to an 8-inch round, then press into bottom and up sides of plate. If dough springs back, let rest 5 minutes before continuing.
Combine beef, breadcrumbs, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Spread marinara over bottom of dough, then top with half of each cheese. Crumble meat mixture over dough. Top with remaining cheese.
Drizzle pizza with oil. Season with salt and pepper. Bake until cooked through and crust is crisp and golden, 15 to 20 minutes. Sprinkle with basil. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.

Martha Stewart Member Rating: 4 stars 02/09/2019 Pizza dough......from where? Martha Stewart Member Rating: 4 stars 04/20/2013 This was really tasty and easy to make. I used store-bought pizza dough, and it turned out really well. The top was pretty greasy after I took it out of the oven, so I had to drain it slightly before serving it--I'd recommend keeping an eye on this before serving. Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 04/19/2013 Watched this video cause I love Sarah Carey knowing I would never make meatball pizza. Well 20 minutes later I realized, hey I have cooked spicy Italian sausage and all of the other ingredients in the freezer including the dough ball and marinara!! I cut the sausage into fourths lengthwise and then crosswise into small pieces and tossed with the breadcrumbs. Sprinkled with red pepper flakes after baking. Didn't seem promising but it was seriously DELICIOUS. Yum and it's like magic! Try me!! Martha Stewart Member Rating: 5 stars 04/18/2013 Delicious. I made my own pizza dough, using Martha's Baking Handbook. I used Newman's Marinara for the sauce otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. It has been pinned to my Pinterest board and will be made again and again. Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 04/18/2013 My Sicilian Aunt made pizza this way for us until she passed away a few years ago, just shy of 90, and I do it too. The crust is almost fried, but so good and crunchy. I always have to bake the crust for a bit first before I put on toppings or I feel like the cheese burns before the crust is cooked. Also, after a bit of baking I rub a clove of garlic on top of the crust. Carmelized onion, spinach and cheese is my favorite. Aunt Maggie used to make one with egg and parmesan poured over the crust.Martha Stewart Member
