  • 3/4 cup Arborio rice, rinsed 6 cups whole milk 1/2 vanilla bean, split and scraped 1/2 cup sugar Pinch of salt 1/4 cup heavy cream 1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest

Martha Stewart Member Rating: 5 stars 11/26/2018 Best rice pudding ever! I generally do not use the orange zest and only sometimes the heavy cream. I have made it with 2% milk or with whole, whatever I have in the house. Love this recipe,

Martha Stewart Member Rating: 5 stars 01/17/2017 This is comfort food bliss! Good as is but can easily be dressed-up with a sprinkle of cinnamon or some sliced peaches. Enjoy!

Martha Stewart Member Rating: 2 stars 02/28/2014 This recipe is great; the simplicity of it allows for modifications to suit your personal taste. I omitted orange zest, I've eaten it warm, I've added fruit - all of which were very pleasing to the palette.

Martha Stewart Member Rating: 5 stars 08/28/2011 This is VERY good. I used 2% milk, and it was just fine. I also did not have orange zest, so I added a tiny bit of orange flower water- and have also added mini choc chips:) This is a SIMPLE, terrific recipe, will never buy rice pudding again!

Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 01/06/2011 Our Christmas is tomorrow, Jan. 7th. Orthodox Christmas and I was asked to make this dish to bring for the family dinner. I hurried up and scrambled on the internet. Never made it in my life and I gotta say it is by far the best. I love it. Can't wait for everyone to try it out tomorrow.

Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 11/24/2010 Simple and delicious! I found after a few tries that if I bring it to a very high boil and leave it for about 30 seconds then bring it down to simmer, I don't have any issues with the water not absorbing into the rice. The arborio rice makes such a difference!

Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 02/10/2009 Excellent recipe. Not only is this the easiest rice pudding I have ever made it is the best. So flavorful and creamy. Most recipes call for soaking the rice (and raisins if you are using them). The arborio rice (also used for risotto) makes the best rice pudding. The only glitch I had was the liquid soaking into the rice. It took longer than the 40-45 mins. My stove was probably set too low after the boil so I turned it up just a tad higher and then it worked great

Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 09/06/2008 i made this last night. It is amazing. The arborio rice was a first for me but I love the texture. I added a half cup of raisins, dash of nutmeg and its the best recipe!

Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 08/27/2008 By far, the best recipe for rice pudding I have ever tried. To give it that extra something, I throw in some cinnamon sticks while it's cooking.

Martha Stewart Member Rating: Unrated 08/09/2008 It is true! This rice pudding is the best! My hubby said it was the best he had ever tasted. However, I took it a step further and whipped up some whip cream with confectioners sugar. I then put that on top and sprinkled cinnamon over it. So yummy!
