Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 pound unsalted pecans
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped thyme
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place all ingredients in a large bowl and toss to combine. Spread nut mixture in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet lined with a nonstick baking mat. Bake, stirring frequently, until browned, 12 to 15 minutes; let cool. Pecans can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container up one week.

                I made these for my husband's office and my daughter's teachers for Christmas.  They were a wonderful success.  The only thing I changed was the maple syrup.  I exchanged it for Steen's Cane syrup...it is very popular here in Louisiana.  You just can't stop eating them, thanks for the recipe.

                I made a lower-carb version by using 1 stick butter, approx. 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon, approx. 10 tsp of Splenda, and two shakes of chili pepper.  DELISH and great for diabetics in your life.

                These pecans were a HUGE sucess! I made 5 pounds and the are all gone! Everyone raved over the pecans and wanted to know where I had bought them. I was very pleased to let them know they were homemade.

                I emailed the Tech Support Group on Martha's Website regarding the Tag to be used for the Maple Spice Pecans.  It appears that the tag template is now part of the recipe information.  Yeah!!!

                I found the jars at 2 grocery stores. (Stater's and Albertson's) Inexpensive too. I was not able to find her stickers at Michael's though I did find just regular cute Christmas ones.

                I ended up designing my own label.  The pecans are yummy!!!!  They were a big hit at the Christmas party I attended Friday night.

                I reviewed Friday's show and the stickers are at Michaels; however, the  gift tag is supposed to be on the website with the pre-printed receipe.  I can't find it either.  I made the Pecans and they are good.

                Although the "Techies" did not include the label template for this recipe, I emailed MS's Customer Service asking them to post the item.  With any luck they may take care of the error next week.  I'm am sure the Techs do not work on the weekends. Let's hope for the best.

                The Ball jars can be found in hardware stores, in the canning section or they can be bought online.  Martha's stickers are sold at most Michael's stores or can be bought online at eBay.
